Downtown Business School Rising Ahead of Schedule

By George! Construction on Spartanburg’s new downtown business school is nearing the home stretch.

Local media on Wednesday caught the first public glimpses of the University of South Carolina Upstate’s rapidly progressing George Dean Johnson Jr. College of Business and Economics — nicknamed “The George” at last year’s groundbreaking ceremony — during a special luncheon celebrating 100,000 man-hours with no accidents or injuries at the St. John Street site.

And, the $21 million construction project is under budget and ahead of schedule. A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony are planned for May 13. Read the full story at GoUpstate.com…
