Shoestring Players Hold Auditions For Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None”

Spartanburg, S.C. – The Shoestring Players at the University of South Carolina Upstate will hold auditions for Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None on Monday, October 4 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None performance dates are November 18-20 at 8:00 p.m. and on November 21 at 3:00 p.m.

Ten people are invited for a weekend on an island by a Mr U. N. Own, but he isn’t on the island when the guests arrive. Before dinner that evening, the guests notice 10 soldier boy figurines on the dining room table. During the meal, a record plays, accusing each of the 10 of murder. Each guest acknowledges awareness of (and, in some cases, involvement with) the deaths of the persons mentioned, but deny either malice and/or legal culpability. The guests realize they have been tricked into coming to the island, but find that they cannot leave: the boat which regularly delivers supplies has stopped arriving. They are murdered one by one, each murder paralleling a verse of the nursery rhyme, with one of the 10 figurines being removed after each murder.
