Choosing to Speak Two Languages

In celebration of National Foreign Language Week, join guest speaker Estela Lopez, senior program advisor at Excelencia in Education, a non-profit organization committed to accelerating Latino student success, for a program and reception on Wednesday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m. in the Campus Life Center Ballroom. Dr. López is senior program advisor at Excelencia in Education, a non-profit organization committed to accelerating Latino student success. She is the former Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of the Connecticut State University System (CSU).  

López has held top administrative positions in different institutions and settings, including Chicago, where she was the Provost of Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU), and prior to joining NEIU, she served as a senior associate at the American Association for Higher Education, a senior fellow at the American Council on Education, and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Planning at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. Dr. López earned her B.A. in Spanish literature at Queens College, M.A. and Ph.D. in Spanish literature at Columbia University.
