TEDx Coming to Spartanburg This Fall

March 22, 2011 at 1:57 pm

TED, the global platform for ‘ideas worth spreading’, is an annual conference that brings together artists, writers, educators, scientists, and others to showcase innovative and inspiring ideas in the form of TED talks, each of which is then posted on the website www.TED.com. This TED model is the basis for many independently and locally organized events called ‘TEDx’. TEDx events are now a recognized platform for sharing great local talent and ideas with the rest of the world.

TEDx Spartanburg will take place on September 10, 2011. The theme is “Together: Creating a New Vision.”  At the moment, we are lining up speakers and performers for the event. We invite you to nominate yourself or others for either role, keeping in mind that we encourage participation from all social groups in terms of age, race, gender, neighborhood, organization, etc. Please spread the word about our auditions on the first two Saturdays in April (April 2 at the Westside Library, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; and April 9, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the HubBub Showroom). If those dates don’t work, we are happy to make alternative arrangements.

Feel free to contact us for more information about the event or the auditions at:tedxspartanburg@gmail.com or view these flyers: TEDxSpartanburg and TEDx Call For Speakers and Performers.
