September 1, 2011 at 2:53 pm

For the third consecutive year, acclaimed composer, keyboardist, and performer Ken Medema will appear in concert to benefit The Carpenter’s Table Community Outreach Center (www.thecarpenterstable.org) and the Spartanburg Interfaith Hospitality Network (www.spihn.org). The event will be held at the District Five Fine Arts Center located at 150 E. Main St., in Duncan on Saturday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. Donations are greatly appreciated by the two sponsoring groups and may be made online or at the concert.

Ken Medema composes and performs in a wide variety of venues. His appearance here last year was widely enjoyed and greatly benefited the two sponsoring organizations. Being blind, Medema especially empathizes with people who are disenfranchised, disabled, homeless or hungry. His humor, faith, and upbeat message often include songs improvised on the spot, using life stories shared by members of the audience. His website is www.kenmedema.com.
