Dr. Layli Phillips Maparyan introduces USC Upstate to the concept of “womanism,” a form of spirituality related to feminism and rooted in the lives of Black women. Dr. Maparyan teaches Women’s and Gender Studies and Africana Studies at Georgia State University.
