February 17, 2012 at 2:13 pm

Anyone with an interest in the fastest growing world power, exotic places, ancient culture and beautiful scenery will want to pack their bags immediately for this fabulous trip planned to China. Dubbed the “Grits and Rice” trip, it will be led by Dr. David Marlow, associate professor of linguistics, and will be hosted by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.

Embodying the desire to promote friendships between Southeastern China and Southeastern United States, the trip will focus on Chinese business and culture – with three weeks full of opportunities to connect people from both sides of the globe. Whether you want to take advantage of an ideal opportunity to enhance language skills, focus on business, or just experience a rich and different culture, there is no better place than China.

Two trips will be offered — one for 12 days (May 2-13), the other for 21 days (May 2-22). Both are open to students, alumni and friends of USC Upstate. The itinerary includes Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Yangshou and more. The complete schedule, costs, and program highlights are online at www.uscupstatechina.org. April 2 is the final deadline for those already with a valid passport.
