Robyn Allwright, adjunct professor of art history, has developed a new course, SATH 398: Special Topics (Architecture Since 1800), for Summer II 2012. It will be held Mon. – Thurs. from 9 – 10:45 a.m. in HPAC 122. The course will introduce students to the architectural design developing since the 1800s. This will include, but not be limited to, Victorian Era eclecticism, Revivalist Movements of the 1800s, the Arts and Crafts Movement and Art Nouveau, Early 20th Century Modernism, Bauhaus, Art Deco, the International Style, and Post-Modernism and Contemporary design. In addition to tracing the evolution of architectural design as based on previous traditions, we will also be investigating the cultural and technological influences that helped drive these changes. All students are welcome. Contact Robyn Allwright for more information at (864) 503-5884 or rallwright@uscupstate.edu.
