Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra Features Szafron on Opening Night, Sept. 8

The Spartanburg community is invited to attend the opening night of Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2012-13 Season. The SPO will be featuring local organist Brennan Szafron as the feature soloist. Szafron is one of Spartanburg’s premier musical talents. In addition the orchestra performs the most exciting British and American works in celebration of the Olympics! Williams Olympic Fanfare opens the program, followed by the sumptuous Elgar In the South. After the intermission Szafron will perform the Toccata Festivo by Samuel Barber and finally, the program will peak with the fabulous Young Person’s Guide to An Orchestra! This concert is family friendly – children from Spartanburg can get in for free with the big red ticket on the orchestra website.
