More than 480 public colleges and universities, including the University of South Carolina Upstate, joined the Project Degree Completion: A Public University Initiative sponsored by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) to affirm their commitment to accessible, affordable and quality public higher education for all students.
This commitment is public higher education’s pledge to increase the number of undergraduate baccalaureate degrees granted by public colleges and universities by 3.8 million between now and 2025 while striving to provide those students with a quality education. It also calls for a renewed partnership among public colleges and universities, the states and the federal government as we work to achieve these goals.
“USC Upstate is committed to providing accessible and affordable education so we are very pleased to be part of this worthwhile initiative,” said Dr. Tom Moore, chancellor of USC Upstate.
