On Friday, February 22, students representing all seven colleges in Spartanburg’s College Town Consortium will join the fight against cancer by participating in Spartanburg Regional Foundation’s first 12-hour dance-a-thon, The All Nighter, to be held at the G.B. Hodge Center on the campus of the University of South Carolina Upstate. The event will run from 8 p.m. on Friday until 8 a.m. on Saturday. At the event, students from Converse College, Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Carolinas Campus, Sherman College of Chiropractic, Spartanburg Community College, Spartanburg Methodist College, University of South Carolina Upstate,  and Wofford College will dance for a full 12 hours! Live entertainment and a DJ will help pass the time along with special performances, games, activities, and more!

“The primary goal of the event is to raise funds to support families being served by the Gibbs Cancer Center and to educate the community about the struggles and triumphs of the patients that it serves,” said Monica Rankin, USC Upstate campus chair for The All Nighter. “The evening will be a blast to the past and will be broken down into dance party blocks paying tribute to the 70s, 80s, 90s, and today.”

In order to participate, students are asked to donate $15 and provide contact information for eight friends and/or family members who might be interested in supporting them as they dance the night away. Contacts should NOT include students at colleges participating in the The All Nighter. Registration is quick, easy, and safe at www.collegetownallnighter.com. Once you complete the steps, an automatic confirmation will be sent to the email address provided. If you have questions or prefer to make your registration over the phone, call (864) 560-6727.

You may choose to donate in honor or in memory of someone. The names of the individuals you honor will be printed on music records and hung at the event for a donation of $25. Cancer Fact Signs will also be posted at the event. Sponsorship of the Fact signs is available for $250.  All donations will benefit the Gibb’s Cancer Center.
