USC Upstate students and faculty to exhibit at First Annual Collegiate Invitational Art Exhibition
Two art department faculty and nine students from the University of South Carolina Upstate will exhibit their works at the Spartanburg County Public Library’s First Annual Collegiate Invitational Art Exhibition, to be held at the library headquarters in downtown Spartanburg from January 30 – March 8, 2013.
The students are Ashleigh Payne (Inman), Emily Phifer (Woodruff), Kyle Rogers (Spartanburg), Aubrey Micah Long (Spartanburg), Tavon Charie Williams (Spartanburg), Halliey Nichols (Greenville), Brandon Lopera (Simpsonville), Beth Copelan (Boiling Springs), and Miriam Jackson (Spartanburg).
Participating faculty are Judi Battaglia, instructor of art and photography, and Jane Nodine, professor of art.
Anderson University, Bob Jones University, Converse College, Greenville Technical College, and Lander University will also be represented.
A public reception for the artists will be held Saturday, February 2 from 7 – 9 p.m. with awards being announced at 8 p.m. Sydney Cross, professor of art at Clemson, is judging the exhibition awards.
