ASL Awareness Event, April 17
As Deaf History Awareness Month comes to a close, we will be hosting an ASL (American Sign Language) awareness event on Wednesday, April 17 in the CLC and Cafeteria. Look for faculty, staff and students demonstrating basic sign language, ASL-themed giveaways, Annabelle, a deaf puppy who has been trained using sign language, an ASL-themed sheetcake provided by Sodexo, and snowcones for those who learn to fingerspell their names.
ASL will be taught for the first time at USC Upstate this fall, and this is a great way to kick off this adventure!
All are welcome – we hope to see you there! Questions? Contact Margaret Camp, (864) 503-5199 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
