Omolo receives Collaboration Grant for Mathematicians

Bernard Omolo has been awarded a research grant in the amount of $35,000 by the Simons Foundation’s Division for Mathematics and the Physical Sciences. The grant, known as the Collaboration Grant for Mathematicians, will provide $5,000 per year for his collaboration, travel and research expenses, plus $ 1,000 per year in discretionary funds for the Mathematics and Computer Science Division at USC Upstate to enhance the research atmosphere within the division through seminars/colloquia support. In addition, the grant will pay $1,000 per year in indirect costs to the University of South Carolina, for the next five years (September 2013-August 2018). Omolo is an associate professor of mathematics.
