The South Carolina Writers Workshop, SCWW, has opened on-line registration for a one-day symposium on Saturday, October 26, 9:00-5:00 pm in Columbia, S.C. “Writing for Publication” is the theme.
Cost is $100 for SCWW members, $150 for non-members. Eight sessions, 1 ½ hours each will feature: writing tips in character building, fiction, setting, realism in fantasy and sci-fi writing, polishing writing for publication, marketing in a digital world, and the Hub City Writers Project. The afternoon ends with a panel question and answer session featuring an agent, author and editor.
The faculty includes Cindi Boiter, editor of Jasper mag., Jamie Bodnar Drowley, Inklings Literary agency, Holly McClure, Sullivan Maxx Literary agency, Shari Stauch, Shark Marketing, Betsy Teter, Hub City Press, and authors Fred Fields and McKendree (Mike) Long.
Register on-line at the SCWW website, http://myscww.org/conference/. Doors open at 8:00 am, with welcome and announcements at 9:00 am. Walk-ins are welcome for the same registration fee.
Purchase critiques from current and past faculty members in fiction, short story, poetry and the query letter, by telephone or on-line. The list, fees and information are available on the website after June 15.
