The 2013 Spartanburg Writing Project’s Fall Renewal Conference “Strengthen Your Core: Utilizing Inquiry, Integration and Innovation to Accelerate 21st Century Learning” will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the University Readiness Center. The conference will focus on implementing and assessing Common Core State Standards(CCSS) across all disciplines.  Featuring a keynote panel discussion along with 14 concurrent workshop sessions providing practical ideas for classroom application, this unique professional development event will help teachers achieve a better understanding of CCSS and provide them with tools and ideas for making the transition to CCSS more manageable.

SWP hosts annual conferences to provide quality staff development for educators in the Upstate and across SC. Each session is expected to maintain a high quality of professional development providing our attendees information that can be useful in the classroom or school setting. Sessions are carefully selected to present a broad perspective of improving literacy across the grade spans and instructional areas.
