The University of South Carolina Upstate will hold Rocktoberfest on Thursday, Oct. 10.
Rocktoberfest, the university’s annual fall carnival, will begin at 5 p.m. in the parking lot next to the Burroughs Child Development Center. (Please note the parking area will be closed from Monday, Oct. 7, through Friday, Oct. 11.)
Take a ride on the Ferris wheel or the loop-to-loop plane and go spinning on the “Roundup,” during this year’s carnival.
In addition to carnival rides, there will be games. A game truck with more than 20 different gaming stations will be on site. Student organizations will have booths set up for a football toss, ring toss and other carnival games.
And don’t forget you can Dunk the Dean! Laura Puckett-Boler, dean of students, has agreed to take a seat in the dunking booth, so be sure your pitching arm is ready.
For those who aren’t in to rides and games, carnival foods such as funnel cakes, fried Oreos, candied apples, popcorn and cotton candy will be available. And if you need a little heavier fare, the USC Upstate Dining Services department has a full carnival menu planned.
Admission is free to students, faculty and staff with a USC Upstate ID card. Community members will be admitted for $5.
The carnival will end at 9 p.m.
