November 17, 2013 at 9:21 pm

TLC with the Center for Teaching Excellence will present a program “Reconsidering Student Ratings:  What the Latest Research Says” with Dr. Linda Nilson from 12:30 – 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25 in Media 238.

Nilson, the founding director of the Office of Teaching Effectiveness and Innovation (OTEI) at Clemson University and author of several books on teaching and learning, will address the following questions:
• How well do student ratings represent “teaching effectiveness”?
• Why should we reconsider their standard institutional use now?

The session will also address using additional or alternate data to evaluate faculty teaching effectiveness—specifically, course-level measures of student learning.

Bring your lunch and we will provide coffee. RSVP appreciated to cte@uscupstate.edu
