In the wake of the freak tower accident at the ESPN Spartanburg studios that knocked the station off the air, the USC Upstate men’s basketball games today and Saturday will be broadcast on WOLI 105.7 FM.

ESPN Spartanburg 97.1 FM and 1400 AM is still waiting for repairs on the tower that was knocked down after a nearby homeowner had a tree cut down, resulting in the tree falling into power lines and then into the tower. The station has not been able to restore its programming, including Upstate men’s basketball, though the station is expected to be back on the air soon.

In the meantime, Matt Smith, President of ESPN Spartanburg, has worked tirelessly to find a new temporary home for Upstate men’s basketball games and the Upstate Basketball Coaches Show featuring head coach Eddie Payne. WOLI 105.7 aired the coaches show Tuesday night from Buffalo Wild Wings and will broadcast the basketball games tonight at Florida Gulf Coast at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at Stetson at 1:00 p.m.

Following this week’s games, Upstate basketball games will be heard on a different station for the remainder of time ESPN Spartanburg is off the air due to WOLI’s commitment to broadcast Wofford College basketball games. Details are being worked out and information will be released when arrangements have been finalized with a different station. Upstate fans can also watch and listen to the men’s home games online on ESPN3 and WatchESPN.
