Preparing for a Winter Storm at USC Upstate

February 11, 2014 at 6:39 am

The next few days will likely bring a winter storm  to the Upstate.

Below are a few important reminders regarding University closings, delayed openings, or class delays or cancellations.

·         Decisions about canceling or delaying classes at USC Upstate will be made as early as possible and no later than 6:00 a.m. When possible, decisions will be made the night before.

·         If Spartanburg County (not local school districts) closes or delays the opening of county offices, the University will follow Spartanburg County’s decision and close or delay opening the campus.

·         Faculty, staff and students working or attending classes at the George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics and the Greenville campus will follow the same schedule as the USC Upstate campus (unless the University Center of Greenville is closed).

·         As soon as decisions are made, the campus community will be notified by the following means: University email, SpartAlert text message, social media postings, and message on the University’s home page. Local tv stations will be notified.

·         Not signed up for SpartAlerts? Students go to https://my.sc.edu and faculty/staff go to  https://vip.sc.edu/ to register.
