The USC Upstate women’s basketball team returns to action Saturday afternoon as it completes a three-game home stand against the East Tennessee State Buccaneers at 4:30 p.m. from the Hodge Center.
The Spartans enter the contest 11-11 overall and 6-5 in the league, while the Buccaneers are 7-15 on the season and 3-8 in conference play.
Upstate began its five-game winning streak, which came to an end last week against Stetson, with a last-second 63-62 victory at East Tennessee State on Jan. 19. The Spartans rallied from 11 points down in the game’s final eight minutes to defeat the Buccaneers after Alex Stanford scored the game-winner on her layup with two seconds left. Brittany Clency recorded a game-high 14 points for Upstate, while Stanford and Sharmayne Edwards each had 11.
