USC Upstate Makes Trek to Winthrop Tuesday

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate baseball team makes its first road appearance of 2014 when the Spartans travel to Rock Hill, S.C., to take on Winthrop Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. from The Winthrop Ballpark.

Upstate begins the week following its 7-6 come-from-behind victory over Butler Sunday afternoon from Harley Park. Trailing by a run in the bottom of the ninth inning, Tyler Lesch laced a two-out, two-run double to left to drive in the game winning runs. The St. Cloud, Fla., native tied a career-high with four hits and now ranks fourth in the Atlantic Sun with a .433 batting average.

USC Upstate and Winthrop will be meeting on the diamond for the first time in school history with the two teams battle on Tuesday.
