The Honors Program is presenting its first “Great Conversations” for the spring semester at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 6 in the Honors Apartment (Villas 6F).
The discussion leaders will be Araceli Hernandez-LaRoche and Cassandra Jones, and their topic will be a upcoming joint project they are working on: Transatlantic Dialogues: How French & African-American Studies Intersect.
What is Négritude? Who were the African-American intellectuals and writers in France influencing decolonization debates on both sides of the Atlantic? What is a Digital Griot? How does African film today engage global audiences with specters from the past and possibilities for the future?
