Spartanburg, S.C. – Already used to making history, the USC Upstate softball team can boast yet another first as the squad is ranked No. 25 this week in both the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 polls.

Upstate (19-0) has never been ranked in the Top 25 in both the NFCA and USA Softball polls in the same week. In fact, this week is the first week the Spartans have ever appeared in the USA Softball poll. The Spartans are ranked 25th in the College Sports Madness Top 25 poll as well.

Upstate’s national ranking will be on the line this week when it makes a mid-week ACC swing for a doubleheader at N.C. State 4 p.m. Wednesday and a single game at North Carolina 5 p.m.Thursday. The Spartans will return home Saturday for a doubleheader against S.C. State.
