Upstate Softball Ranked 25th in First NCAA Softball RPI Ranking

Spartanburg, S.C. – Off to a 29-4 start to the season with wins over Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Virginia, the USC Upstate softball team is ranked No. 25 in the first RPI ranking released by the NCAA Monday. The RPI is one of the key tools used by the NCAA for at-large selections to the NCAA Tournament.

Upstate improved to 29-4 after sweeping Florida Gulf Coast over the weekend. The Spartans’ only losses on the year have come in two games at N.C. State and two games at A-Sun rival Stetson.
