Upstate Preps for Battle of A-Sun’s Top Two Teams

Spartanburg, S.C. – When the USC Upstate softball team hits the road to play at Mercer in a key three-game A-Sun series in Macon, Ga., Saturday and Sunday, it will be a battle between the first and second place teams in the A-Sun standings. Upstate enters the series in first place with Mercer one game back in second.

Upstate and Mercer have played 13 times in the history of the two schools with Upstate owning a 9-4 lead in the series. The Spartans are 7-4 against the Bears since moving to NCAA Division I and the A-Sun in 2008.
