With a 40-5 overall record, the USC Upstate softball team remained in both national Top 25 polls for the third consecutive week, holding its position at No. 24 in the USA Today/NFCA poll and No. 25 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll.

Upstate played just one game last week and claimed a 2-1 victory over A-Sun rival Kennesaw State. The final two games of the series, as well as a non-conference game at Furman earlier in the week, were rained out and will not be made up.

The Spartans head to Appalachian State for a non-conference game Wednesday at 5 p.m. before taking more than a week off for exams.
