USC Upstate head volleyball coach Jennifer Calloway has announced today that the Spartans will play 30 games, including seven inside the Hodge Center, for the upcoming 2014 campaign.
“This year we will embrace a young team, carrying only underclassmen,” said Calloway, who is entering her 19th season at the helm of the Spartan volleyball program. “In planning our non-conference schedule we look to take on many challenging opponents knowing that it will allow us to take a deeper look inside as to our individual and team improvement.”
Upstate begins the season with four straight tournaments on the road with three taking place in the state of South Carolina. The four tournaments to kick off the year will be held at Clemson (Aug. 29-30), Liberty (Sept. 5-6), Charleston Southern (Sept. 12-13) and Wofford (Sept. 19-20). The Spartans follow the tournaments with a trip down to Clinton, S.C. Sept. 23 to take on Presbyterian College.
