Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate associate head coach Carson Blackwelder has announced today that the Spartans will host two cross country meets in 2014 as part of a six-meet schedule, which kicks off on August 29.

“I’m excited to get the season started,” said Blackwelder. “We will have two home meets this year both with very good competition for our men’s and women’s teams.”

Upstate begins its season for the second straight year in Boone, N.C. Aug. 29 with the Covered Bridge Open before staying in the state of South Carolina for the next month. The Spartans remain in the upstate region for the next three meets including two of their own events to be held at the Roger Milliken Center.
