Moss Delivers Game Winner as Upstate Downs Southern Wesleyan

Spartanburg, S.C. – Sam Moss used the outside of his right foot to put a curving shot into the left side of the goal in the 74th minute to lift the USC Upstate men’s soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Southern Wesleyan in an exhibition game at County University Soccer Stadium Thursday night.

Upstate improved to 2-0 in the preseason after taking wins at South Carolina (2-1) and against Southern Wesleyan. The Spartans will close out the preseason Tuesday night at 6:00 against former Division II and Peach Belt Conference rival USC Aiken at County University Soccer Stadium. Southern Wesleyan played its first preseason game of the year following a strong season in 2013 which saw the Warriors win the National Christian College Athletic Association national championship.
