Upstate Picked Eighth in A-Sun Volleyball Preseason Poll

Macon, Ga. – The USC Upstate volleyball team was picked to finish eighth in the annual Atlantic Sun Conference Preseason Poll as voted on by the league’s coaches, it was announced today by the conference office.

Led by head coach Jennifer Calloway, who is entering her 19th season at the helm of the Upstate volleyball program, the Spartans return seven letter winners from last year’s squad including five starters that appeared in all 28 matches. Four of the five returning starters tallied over 200 kills on the season led by junior Kayla Eversgerd with 386. She ranked fifth in the A-Sun in kills and tenth in digs with 350. Junior Lexi Gober led the team with 943 assists to rank eighth in the league in that category. The Spartans also welcome three newcomers in freshmen Kaleigh Kelley, Dominique Arnold and Rebecca Shearer.
