Upstate Men’s Soccer Takes Weekend Trip to VMI for Jay Sculley Memorial Tournament

The USC Upstate men’s soccer team will hit the road for the weekend, playing in the Jay Sculley Memorial Tournament hosted by VMI at Patchkin Field Friday and Sunday in Lexington, Va. The Spartans will open the tournament against VMI Friday and finish play Sunday against Liberty.

Upstate enters the weekend with a 0-1-1 record after getting a tie on the road at UNC Asheville and a tough 1-0 loss in double overtime to Gardner-Webb in the Spartans’ home opener. VMI is 1-2-0 on the season, earning its win in a 1-0 decision over UNC Asheville. Liberty stands 2-0-1 on the year, picking up wins over Bluefield and VMI.
