After opening the season with four straight tournaments, USC Upstate heads to Presbyterian College Tuesday evening to face the Blue Hose in its first midweek match of the season at 6 p.m.

The Spartans are off to their best start since 2006 as they are 9-5 overall after winning three of four matches last weekend at The Spartanburg Courtyard Classic hosted by Wofford. Upstate dropped its tournament opener to Gardner-Webb, but responded with three straight victories over Wofford, Tennessee Tech and North Carolina A&T. Kayla Eversgerd and Emily Koelling were selected to the All-Tourmament Team, as Eversgerd had four double-doubles and Koelling led the team with 14 blocks.

Eversgerd was honored for her performance Monday afternoon as she became the first USC Upstate player since Holly Mauldin in 2008 to be named A-Sun Player of the Week.
