Campus Security Alert

October 17, 2014 at 8:54 am

Earlier this morning, two males were shot at the privately-owned Campus Edge Apartments, which is adjacent to the USC Upstate campus. The males are not USC Upstate students and the extent of their injuries are unknown at this point. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released details of potential suspects or a description of their vehicle but we will notify you when that information becomes available. Should you have any details about this incident, please call the Sheriff’s Office at 503-4500.

Although this is not a University-related matter, the USC Upstate Police Department will increase its presence on campus today and throughout the weekend to ensure student safety as many students live at Campus Edge and there is a great deal of pedestrian traffic between the apartment complex and the campus. While USC Upstate Police have deemed the campus to be safe and not at risk from this incident, you should always be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity by calling 503-5911.
