White, Hassell Lead Spartans at Wolfpack Intercollegiate

Raleigh, N.C. – Taylor White and Sean Hassell led the USC Upstate men’s golf team on the first day of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate hosted by N.C. State at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course Monday.

White stands tied for 37th with a 149 total after rounds of 74 and 75. Hassell is just one shot back and in a tie for 42nd at 150 after rounds of 76 and 74. The two combined to lead the team as Upstate carded rounds of 297 and 309 for a 606 total. The Spartans are 16th on the leaderboard after being tied for ninth after the first round.

N.C. State leads the tournament with a 566 total and will carry a three-stroke lead into Tuesday’s final round. East Tennessee State is second at 569 and is followed by East Carolina (575), UNC Greensboro (577), Seton Hall (582), Georgia Southern (586), Lipscomb (589), N.C. State “B” (590), Rhode Island (592), Campbell (593), Temple (593), Loyola (Md.) (593), George Washington (593), Wofford (594), Bowling Green State (603), Upstate (606), Western Carolina (607) and Boston College (607).
