Public Invited to Free Concert by Pop/Alternative Soloist Anna V, Nov. 23

November 17, 2014 at 1:37 pm

Chapman Cultural Center is the premier destination for citizens and visitors to experience Spartanburg’s arts and culture. The Center’s weekly Sundays Unplugged program allows patrons to enjoy free concerts by local musicians, 2-4 p.m., and free admission to most museums and galleries, 1-5 p.m., every Sunday afternoon. Families are invited to engage in casual, cultural entertainment this Sunday, Nov. 23.

Pop/alternative soloist Anna V will perform this Sunday, 2-4 p.m., as the featured musician. Anna V is a classically trained singer-songwriter and pianist from Spartanburg. Though she has filled the roles of vocalist and bassist in several local bands, Anna V made her solo debut last year. Her style is a unique blend of various influences such as Tori Amos, Nine Inch Nails, and assorted New Wave bands. Some fans of her music have described her songs as modern takes on ’80s synth pop with compelling vocals and great progressions. Samples of her work are available on her SoundCloud account.

Free weekly concerts are complemented by free admission to most museums and galleries, 1-5 p.m. Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg, Spartanburg Art Museum, Spartanburg Regional History Museum, and the Student Galleries are free. Spartanburg Science Center is open for a small fee.
