The USC Upstate men’s basketball team looks to make it three wins in a row when the Spartans host Bob Jones Thursday evening at 7 p.m. from the Hodge Center.
Upstate picked up its second win of the season Monday at North Carolina A&T, using 20 points and five rebounds from senior Ty Greene to cruise to a 63-46 victory. Fred Miller added 11 points and three assists, while both Shunquez Stephens and Damian Goodwin pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
Individually, Greene leads the Spartans and ranks fourth in the conference with 18.0 points per game, while Goodwin is tied for fifth with 6.5 rebounds per game.
Bob Jones University boasts a 3-3 overall record and plays on the road Tuesday at Emmanuel College. The Bruins are 0-3 on the road thus far this season and have lost all three by double digits.
Marshall Riddle leads the Bruins with 15.8 points per game, while Kyle Turner pours in 15.3 points and a team-high 9.2 rebounds per game.
USC Upstate and Bob Jones will meet for the second time when the two schools tipoff Thursday night. Upstate is 1-0 all-time against the Bruins following a 94-67 victory last season inside the Hodge Center. In that game, Greene led all scorers with 21 points and Buchanan added a career-high 18 points to go along with eight rebounds.
