After winning the co-individual championship at the Wendy’s Kiawah Classic Tuesday, USC Upstate standout Ryan Cornfield earned A-Sun Golfer of the Week honors for men’s golf.
Cornfield had a standout tournament to close out the fall at the Wendy’s Kiawah Classic. After opening with back-to-back rounds of even-par 72, he went low in the final round and posted a 6-under 66 to move from a tie for sixth into position to win his first career collegiate individual championship. He watched as Georgia Southern’s Scott Wolfes ended his round with a 63 to tie Cornfield for medalist honors at 6-under for the tournament. Wolfes is ranked No. 52 in the nation and Cornfield topped three more players ranked in the Top 90 in the nation in the tournament.
