Celebrate the Carolinas with Ted and Gerald Stephens, the founders of Nurseries Carolinian, at the University of South Carolina Upstate’s 11th Annual Arbor Day celebration to be held Friday, Dec. 5, 2014.
The day’s events will include presentations by the Stephens brothers, who will share their knowledge of noble trees and landscape design; a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. complete with Q&A and door prizes; as well as the dedication of the noble tree of the year, an Espresso® Kentucky Coffee Tree[FK1] selected by Roebuck Wholesale Nursery, at three Spartanburg City parks and in the Susan Jacobs Arboretum.

Schedule of events:
- 9:15 a.m. – Simultaneous tree dedications at Priscilla Rumley Park, Summerhill Park, Hillcrest Park and the Susan Jacobs Arboretum
- 10 a.m. – Ted Stephens will present a panoramic view of new and old plants which will give Southern gardens a new lease on life. – Humanities and Performing Arts Center Theater, USC Upstate’s main campus.
- 11:30 a.m. – Gerald Stephens will describe a few simple concepts to help homeowners recognize what good design entails. – Sansbury Campus Life Center, USC Upstate’s main campus.
- 1 p.m. – Plant Sale – under a tent located between the Sansbury Campus Life Center and the Humanities and Performing Arts Center Theater, USC Upstate’s main campus.
