The USC Upstate men’s basketball team continues its five-game homestand Monday evening at 7 p.m. when the Spartans welcome Barber Scotia to the Hodge Center.

Upstate enters the week having won two of its last three games following a 2-1 record at the Spartanburg Marriott Upstate Classic. The Spartans posted wins over FIU and Cal State Fullerton before falling to Wright State Saturday.

Senior guard Fred Miller averaged 19.7 points and 5.3 rebounds during the tournament and scored a career-high 25 points against Cal State Fullerton. Miller ranks fifth in the Atlantic Sun in scoring (15.0 ppg), third in steals (2.0 spg) and fourth in assists (3.7 apg).

Ty Greene poured in 14.7 points per game during the three-game event and had a career-best 29 points in game two against Cal State Fullerton. Greene stands fourth in the conference with 16.0 points per game, while ranking first with 2.3 steals per game. In addition, the Knoxville, Tenn., native is just one three-pointer shy of 200 for his career at Upstate.

Junior ShunQuez Stephens and sophomore Josh Cuthbertson are tied for the team-lead with 5.3 rebounds per game and rank seventh in the league.

Barber Scotia is 1-8 overall and has not won since posting a 90-55 win over College of Faith Nov. 11. Monday’s game will be the first meeting between the Spartans and the Sabers on the hardwood.
