The USC Upstate men’s tennis team closes a six-match road trip Saturday at 3 p.m. when the Spartans travel to Davidson, N.C., to face Davidson from Covington Tennis Courts.

Spartan junior Ramon Simonetti enters the weekend with a team-high three singles victories after winning his last two matches. Senior Viktor Selander is tied for the team lead in singles wins after he registered a victory at No. 2 last time out against Presbyterian.

“We’re excited to have Felix (Ewers) back in the lineup because that adds depth in both singles and doubles,” Upstate head coach Oliver Trittenwein said. “We have had success at the top of the lineup so far this season, but I feel we have a good shot against Davidson if we can duplicate that success in the bottom half.”

Davidson has won its last three matches and opens the weekend with a 4-3 overall record. The Wildcats, however, are just 1-3 at home and are 0-3 there against Division I opponents.
