Macon, Ga. – USC Upstate sophomore hurdles/multi athlete KeAndrea Ladson has been selected as the Atlantic Sun Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced this afternoon by the conference office.
Ladson earned her first career outdoor weekly honor after breaking her own school record last weekend as Upstate opened its outdoor season at the CCU Invitational. The Hinesville, Ga. native surpassed her old school record by .13 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles during the final day of competition. Ladson finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles seeded race after compiling a personal-best time of 14.92. She also had a 12th place finish in the long jump.
She currently ranks first for the A-Sun this season in the 100-meter hurdles event.
It is the second straight year that the Spartans have received the first A-Sun weekly outdoor accolade of the season. Last year, Brenicke Johnson was named the A-Sun Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week following her performance during the season-opening CCU Invitational.
Upstate continues its outdoor season this weekend at the 49er Classic.
