The USC Upstate women’s tennis team embarks on a four-match stretch over seven days that begins Tuesday at 2 p.m. against Longwood (3-3) from the USC Upstate Tennis Complex.
The Spartans are also scheduled to face Wofford (4-2) Thursday at 3 p.m., Slippery Rock (1-3) Sunday at 8 a.m. and Rhodes College (0-4) Monday at a time yet to be determined.
Upstate enters the week led by senior Isabel von Stryk, who has won four straight singles matches and owns a 4-2 overall record from the No. 1 position. Von Stryk is also a combined 4-1 in doubles play alongside Anna Zoske or Nona Ruppert.
“The women are excited to get back into the swing of matches after having several days off,” USC Upstate head coach Oliver Trittenwein said. “Longwood and Slippery Rock are two new teams that we have not had on our schedule and are a welcome addition to our schedule.
“It is always a great opportunity to play Wofford because it’s a nice crosstown rivalry between two quality programs,” Trittenwein added. “We are hoping that we can get a win this week before conference play begins within the next two weeks.”
Freshman Nina Roell ranks second on the team with two singles victories.
