The USC Upstate women’s tennis team continues a five-match homestand Tuesday at 2 p.m. when the Spartans welcome Lamar (3-8) to the USC Upstate Tennis Complex to begin a stretch of four matches in seven days.
Upstate continues its homestand Thursday at 2 p.m. when it opens Atlantic Sun Conference play against Stetson (9-1). The Spartans close the weekend by hosting Florida Gulf Coast (2-8) Saturday at 10 a.m. before stepping back outside league play against Charlotte (4-6) Monday at 2 p.m.
Spartan senior Isabel von Stryk won her eighth singles match in a row Saturday against Gardner-Webb and leads Upstate with an 8-2 overall record. Von Stryk has also won seven consecutive doubles matches and boasts a 7-1 record playing alongside freshman Nona Ruppert.
Ruppert and fellow freshman Nina Roell are both tied for second on the team with four singles wins apiece.
“We are looking forward to the start of conference play this week,” USC Upstate head coach Oliver Trittenwein said. “Starting with two of the top teams in the league should prepare us for what we will face during the remainder of the season.”
Upstate enters the week having won two of its last three matches.
