Two Women’s and Gender Studies minors presented papers during the Southeastern Women’s Studies Association conference March 27-29.

Stacy Gullion, an English major, presented a paper on millennial women’s perceptions of feminism. Heather Dykes, a Sociology major, presented on Raven-Symone’s controversial rejection of race and sexuality labels in her October 2014 Oprah interview.

Both students will expand the conference papers into articles for submission to undergraduate research journals — “Caravel” and the “Journal of Girlhood Studies.”
