June 18, 2015 at 5:06 pm

To benefit Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg and the educational programming of The Music Foundation of Spartanburg, Freeburg and Perzina Pianos will raffle a custom upright painted Perzina Piano.

The raffle’s drawing will be held during The 3rd Annual World Masterwork Series, “A Night at the Opera,” on August 29 at 7 p.m. in Chapman Cultural Center’s theater.

Drawing inspiration from the music featured for the concert, Mark Anderson, a Guild artist and professor at Presbyterian College, will paint the piano for a one-of-a-kind treasure. Two of the most spectacular two-piano compositions ever written, Reminiscences of Don Juan from Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Reminiscences of Norma by Bellini will be performed by pianists Dr. John Cobb and Christopher Tavernier in this rare two-piano “Night at the Opera.”

Tickets for the event and for the piano will be available for purchase at Chapman Cultural Center from Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg or The Music Foundation of Spartanburg. Only 600 raffle tickets will be sold at $25 each. For more information on purchasing, please call 864-764-9568.
