Stacey D. Mills ’96 has been appointed interim executive director of our Greenville operations, effective July 1.
Mills will replace Dr. Judy Beck who is leaving us to become the dean of the School of Education at the USC Aiken campus.
Mills returned to USC Upstate in July 2009 as the assistant director of Student Life responsible for Multicultural Student Services, Leadership Programs, Non-Traditional Student Services, and NPHC Greek Life.
He currently serves as the director of Student Services on the Greenville Campus and has served in that capacity since March 2014.
In addition to serving the campus community, Mills has represented the University in several community initiatives to include the Urban League of the Upstate Board of Directors (Program Committee Chairman), graduate of Leadership Greenville Class 40 and the most recent class of the Riley Institute at Furman’s South Carolina Diversity Leaders Initiative. Previously, he served as a teacher at Woodmont High School in Greenville County and as a minister at Mountain View Baptist Church in Greenville since November 1997.
Mills will work with the community and lead our Greenville team in an effort to adapt our academic programs to the needs of the area’s workforce.
