The Shoestring Players at the University of South Carolina Upstate will hold auditions for two upcoming productions for the fall semester.
Auditions for “Othello” will be from 7-9 p.m. Monday, August 24 in the Performing Arts Center. Performances will be October 1-3.
Auditions for “The Cripple of Inishmaan” will be from 7-9 p.m. Monday, August 31 in the Performing Arts Center. Performances will be November 12-15.
Those interested in auditioning should familiarize themselves with the play and be prepared to read from the script.
Theatre performance majors are encouraged to bring a prepared monologue from another play by William Shakespeare. Scripts for “Othello” may be checked out from The Box Office, located in the Performing Arts Center. The box office is open from 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

About the Shoestring Players
Recognized both nationally and internationally, the Shoestring Players have produced theatrical performances on the USC Upstate campus for more than 40 years. The troupe was recognized by the Kennedy Center’s National Committee and Awards Panel with a 2015 Commendation for the Acting Company for ensemble performances of “Memigery,” and was named “Best in Fest” in July for their performances of “The Pursuit of U.S.” at the International Youth Festival in Kingston Upon Thames in the United Kingdom.
