Upstate finished with a third round 307 and tallied a three-day total score of 904.
Cornfield tied for 15th place with Kansas’ Ben Welle after recording an even-par 72 on Tuesday. He posted three birdies with two coming on the back nine. The senior shaved three strokes off his first and second round scores to finish with a total of 222 (+6). Cornfield turned in a solid three days on the links as he ranked eighth or better in par-4 scoring, par-5 scoring and pars.
Taylor White placed just two spots behind Cornfield as he tied for 17th with Illinois State’s Zach Burry and Matt Ross of Wisconsin. White accumulated a three-round score of 223 (+7) after his 75 on Tuesday. He turned in an even-par score on the first nine holes with birdies on the 5th and 6th. White added another birdie on the 16th hole to close out his round.
Sebastian Lopez Bulla posted the third-best finish for the Spartans after tying for 23rd place. Lopez Bulla had two birdies on the day for a final round 79. He finished the tournament with an overall score of 225 (+9).
Tom Schofield ended the tournament in a tie for 64th place while Trey Taylor tied for 70th position. Schofield had a 237 total score following his third round 84 highlighted by back-to-back birdies on holes 13 and 14. Taylor turned in an 81 for his final round and ended the tournament with a 241.
Kansas took home the Badger Invitational team championship with a total score of 865, defeating Miami (Ohio) by eight strokes. Patrick Flavin of Miami (Ohio) was the individual champion after carding a 207.
Upstate heads to Raleigh, N.C. Oct. 5-6 for the Wolfpack Intercollegiate.
