More than $5,000 was raised through the University of South Carolina Upstate Parents’ Fund to purchase and install five new emergency call boxes on campus.

The safety and security of our students is the number one priority for the USC Upstate Department of Public Safety. These call boxes are two-way speaker phones that are programmed to dial 9-1-1 directly when the button is pushed and augment a robust student safety program.

Two of the new call boxes are located at the Hodge Center, two at the Media Building and one at the College of Arts and Sciences.

The Parents’ Fund supports safety and security initiatives, health and wellness, beautification projects, student development and leadership programs, scholarships and senior class gift.
